Marketing and Communications Intern

North Carolina Advanced Energy Corporation (Advanced Energy) is a nonprofit energy consulting firm headquartered on NC State University's Centennial Campus in Raleigh, NC. Position Overview

Provides marketing and communications assistance for corporate marketing initiatives and client projects and programs. The position is entry level and requires basic skills in areas that use marketing and/or communications judgement. Work products or processes will always have oversight from senior marketing and communications staff.

Essential Functions

Marketing and Communications Support

  • Assist with the creation and implementation of outreach and recruitment campaigns
  • Conduct research to assist marketing and business development initiatives
  • Write articles and case studies
  • Assist with event planning and attending events
  • Provide social media support, including writing and designing posts
  • Analyze social media and website analytics
  • Assist with website updates

Position Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, business development or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must be able to work independently and collaborate with teams at all levels in the organization
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software programs
  • Strong understanding of online communications and social networking
  • Experience with event planning
  • Must feel comfortable learning and using communications platforms for email marketing, graphic design, website updates, etc.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry is a plus

Physical Demands/Work Conditions

Must be able to work at computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to travel to events and assist with event set up - lifting up to 25 pounds.
